This is an old photo i have taken with my old camera, a Fuji S7000 at Jan 5, 2004.

Taken just 50m away from Cold River Day: Cold River Day by

If you look close you can se the river behind the trees.

It was a cold day, around -10°C and the sun was on it way down behind the trees, i directly saw that this shot could be one of my best ever.

The river behind the tree's is called Viskan an runs through my town. But the picture was taken at a millitary practice field/area just outside the town.

This is an excellent image. Crit wise, you havent included the top of the near tree, which is a big no no for me, and the sun burns through just a little too much. Still outstanding! +9

great shot. excellent composition, nice tones.
You should wait just some few minutes, enough the sun descend a little more, to avoid that bright disturbing zone and to have a softer light.
anyway a beautiful capture. great one.

Interesting the way in which lighting affects trees color, most trees on right side are glowing from sunlight and left side trees are white from snow cover. Is this a real forest or an layed forest (with plans for tree placement,etc.)? These trees are too well spaced (personally) to be from a real forest. Nicely taken shot.

Beautiful photo, the trees have a golden glow and the snow and clouds set the tone. Bleak but hopeful. You were in the right place at the right time and I doubt it was by accident. Top marks.
